Maggie played Winter Soccer at the YMCA these past couple of months. Since I was playing with her most of the time, I didn't take my camera. These pictures are courtesy of our friend Kristi Richards. She took TONS of photos over the course of the 8 week season. We had a lot of fun and Maggie really enjoyed herself. The first day Maggie was super shy. Not really wanting to do much. The second practice, I told her since she was 4 years old, she had to kick the ball at least 4 times. Not too bad a deal if you ask me. Maggie kicked butt that week. All the other parents were amazed at my little soccer superstar. We continued to play and Maggie continually got better. At this age (3-4) the kids are mostly learning to have fun. They get a little bit of actual soccer skills, but the majority of the game at this age is focused on having fun. This has really improved Maggie's self confidence. She's still a shy little girl, but she's coming out of her shell more and more. We start Spring Soccer next week. I'm taking my own camera this time and we'll see if I can post some pictures of her actually playing.
Thanks Kristi, Coach Dan and our volunteer Coaches Jason and Wade!
